Dictum does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
What Dictum Does
Dictum records your voice and transcribes it to text entirely on your device. Your recordings and transcriptions are stored locally and never leave your iPhone or iPad.
Microphone & Speech Recognition
Dictum requires microphone access to record your voice, and speech recognition access to transcribe it. These permissions are used only while you are actively recording. Audio is processed on-device and is never sent to any server.
Apple Dictation (Optional)
Dictum includes an optional transcription mode that uses Apple's built-in Dictation service. If you choose this mode, audio is processed by Apple according to Apple's Privacy Policy. All other transcription modes are fully offline.
No Analytics, No Tracking
Dictum contains no analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. I never see your payment information.
